Adolescents (ages 10 to 19) go through a large number of transitions: socially, emotionally, and physically. It can be difficult for young people navigating these changes and being able to manage the emotions they feel in a positive and appropriate way. I utilize techniques from Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for trauma survivors.
Families are at their best when they act together as a unit. I provide family therapy using principles from Attachment Theory and Structural Family Therapy. Especially for young people experiencing behavioral and emotional health issues, family therapy is an important component of their successful treatment.
