Therapy for Teens
Teens are going through so many transitions: socially, emotionally, and physically, as well as stressors in our country and the world. They're learning about themselves and who they want to be in the future. It can be difficult for young people navigating these challenges to manage the emotions they feel in a positive and appropriate way. I utilize techniques from Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for trauma survivors.
Major Life Changes
Major changes in our lives can be so exciting, but overwhelming and scary at the same time. Whether you’re leveling up at school, making a career change, or navigating new relationship dynamics like a new friend group or a difficult break up, I’m here to help you through it. We’ll create a plan to manage the distress you’re feeling so you can feel in control and empowered to handle the changes coming your way.
Therapy for Young Adults
As a young adult, you may be trying to figure out your place in the world. You’re working hard to create the life you’ve dreamed of and that can lead to many overwhelming emotions and thoughts. You deserve to be in control of your thoughts and emotions, (not the other way around) while you create the life you want. I blend approaches from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness to support you in figuring out what you want and helping you get there.
Stress Management
You may experience stress every day and maybe those stressors vary so some days aren’t as bad as others, but you deserve to feel less stress and more in control. Together, we’ll identify what it is about these stressors that’s making them so impactful and I’ll support you in developing strategies to decrease them using a combination of Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness. This is your life, stress doesn’t get to be in charge of it.
Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to identify your concerns and how to achieve your goals. I utilize a client centered, strengths based approach to support you in the therapeutic process. I specialize in addressing anxiety, depression, and major life changes for teens and young adults, as well as the symptoms they lead to through a combination of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Coaching.
